Ul Vs Duke Basketball
After a bye in the first round of the ACC Tournament, Louisville men's basketball team will make their 2021 ACC Tournament debut against Duke at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
Duke (12-11, 9-9 ACC) blew past Boston College 86-51 in the first round to set up its third meeting this season with the Cardinals (13-6, 8-5). The winner of tonight's matchup goes on to face No. 2 seed Florida State in the quarterfinals Thursday.
Cardinals beat writer Shannon Russell said redshirt freshman Jae'Lyn Withers pointed to 'staying locked in' and 'staying together' in the midst of adversity as key factors to making a run in the conference tournament, like the times opponents have taken control for long stretches. More than once this season, the Cardinals have proven vulnerable in first halves, most recently against a Virginia team that held them to 21 points by halftime. U of L's 37 points after intermission weren't enough.
Duke (11-9, 9-7) still leads the overall series with Louisville, 10-9, but the Cardinals have won three straight. Hurt has been on a late-season tear, entering Saturday's game averaging 20.8. 1 day ago Duke looks to win its second straight game in the ACC Tournament when the No. 10 seed Blue Devils face No. 7 seed Louisville. The Cardinals beat Duke in both regular season matchups, winning 70-65.
